Does anyone (especially writers) have any tips for how to write nice comments for authors? I really love a lot of fills but find it hard to put into words why I liked them so much. It was written very well? It was hot?

I really want to write this ship, but I'm lacking in good prompts and hesitant to post an own-fill for it (though I really do love my AU idea.) Has anyone seen any really good Poe/Hux prompts that they'd like to see written or have any they'd like to go make?

I really want to write something before I ask for anything again since I've left 3 prompts, but whenever I get to the 500 word range, I just end up deleting everything. I feel the stress is so much worst when you are writing for someone else, and not just for yourself. And as a non native speaker I feel even worse about disappointing the OP. So any good things you guys do to avoid this. I've even been tempted to just snatch one of my own prompts that what of sucks at least I'll only disappoint myself, lol.

Also, unrelated, any good ways to search the archive outside of the delicious account? I really want to see of there has been more "time crash" prompts. I have only really found one, but because you can't really search character or movie tags in the delicious account, just pairings I am not really having any luck.

I just want an excuse to see/write (an older) Luke and Kylo meeting a young Anakin.

Just curious to see how long everyone stays with their fandoms.

Okay, but let's ask the real question. Who, out of all the Star Wars TFA characters, do you decide to marry? Who do you have sex with? And which character do you kill off?

i get that it's probably counter-intuitive to the anonymity of a kink meme, but would anyone else be interested in a casual skype group or something?

i love writing but i lost contact with a lot of people i could talk headcanons with (including kink meme worthy headcanons lol) and i think it's really hurting my writing! i feel like i'm gettin stuck in a rut and it would be helpful to have a group where we could spitball ideas with each other and just generally boost each other up! (maybe also help each other with beta reading? the possibilities are endless!)

or...does something like this already exist? is there an interest??

Please check on your prompts & answer the questions potential prompters may have. I love writing fic regardless, but it's a bit discouraging to show interest into a prompt and find that apparently the anon who posted the prompt stopped caring. If I ask questions, it's because I don't want to fuck up.

Reading the earlier threads about people's first fandoms I was wondering if anyone else was in the SGA fandom? Honestly, I still cannot believe how successful/prolific it was for something that wasn't a giant franchise. It might have just been that it's rise coincided with the height of lj, but there was such a ridiculous amount of events/fics/ect. When people talk about TFA already losing its steam/being repetitive I wonder what the difference is.

I keep seeing people on this meme saying that there are too many superficial tropey fics or repetitive fic plots and unimaginative fics, and I'm just curious what it is you're looking for in a unique/imaginative/non-repetitive fic and what you're comparing TFA fics against?

Out of curiosity... I've seen many people write Hux and other characters as smokers and I was just wondering why or which characters you'd perceive to be as someone who smokes? Personally, I gotta say Hux and Phasma seem like among the people least likely to smoke for me. XD Hux is so prim and proper about everything and they're leading figures and I'm guessing smoking is probably prohibited in the First Order (or at least discouraged)? Now after reading the novel Before the Awakening I can even see it less, since there's a scene where a stormtrooper's rations are cut short by Phasma because it was detected in his physicality test that he was a bit over the allowed weight / fat percentage or something like that. Everything is so strictly controlled that I can't really imagine it and while I guess he as a General could certainly allow it for himself, I just don't see Hux as the type to indulge in smoking (lol, I feel like I've spent too many thoughts on this).
BTW, now that I think about it, does anyone in the SW universe canonically smoke? I could totally picture Han or Poe doing it because uh pilot cliché or something... (and Grievous haha)

Who exactly is in the First Order outside a bunch of programmed Stormtroopers and the command? Do they have planets they rule or smth? Because I would think the Republic would have taken them seriously and as a threat in that case...

don't get me wrong, this isn't meant to be any form of ship hate, i just can't bring myself to enjoy jedistormpilot where everyone is romantically involved with everyone else (rey and poe merely sharing finn is a different story). i know rey is an adult but she's my exact age and it might have something to do with the fact that i am acutely aware that i probably am seen by older men as something to alleviate their insecurities about aging and i'm projecting those feelings onto her because i heavily relate to her (she's got my same hair and eye color so it's especially jarring). i don't know. my entire life is a paradox.

anyone wanna rap with me on this or am i just weirdly alone in this sort of feeling? i've never really had characters my age and gender expression to relate to like this before so it's a weird time.

I've seen offhand comments made about this but I don't think there's ever been an in-depth discussion. A bunch of people have used the SNL skit as proof given how awkward Ren acts there while trying to interact with people. But obviously that's not canon, though I did notice some character choices that support the theory.

1) With the mask off, Kylo has trouble maintaining eye contact. He frowns a lot and looks away.
2) He doesn't seem to be able to understand people in general. He does things like kidnap Rey and then is genuinely surprised that she wants to kill him.
3) He acts very immature for his age and clearly has poor coping mechanisms.
4) He is singleminded and obsessive over one thing (Vader).

He ain't one.

I am so glad the mod decided to make a "no prompts based on real life tragic events" rule. I've seen a few of those in the past weeks and there's another fic that was posted on AO3 today that is causing, rightfully so, a shitstorm in fandom.

Between segregation AUs and Nazi AUs, I'm disappointed in fandom.

Was it ever stated where, exactly, in the galaxy Ahch-To is located? I found a copy of the updated map but don't see it anywhere.

I know some kinkmemes allow people for prompt for fanworks besides just fics, such as fanart, gif-sets, fanvids, etc. This meme doesn't have a specific rule regarding that, but it seems to be implicitly just fics. Is there somewhere already established that would be good for prompting those things, or would people here be interested in such prompts?
