Every fandom has it's majors repetitive tropes. Be it characterization for certain characters, ships, AUs or even kinks (for example a good portion of Teen Wolf fandom is Sterek and some level of ABO). I think people's issues tend to boil down to taste. If you don't like the tropes that are popular with a certain fandom, you are more likely to get bored and tired of them more easily than if you do.
