I lurked in SGA fandom for years because I was a scared baby and wouldn't participate and have been low-key crying to myself about the difference between that fandom and this one. I don't know if it's because I feel like Star Wars is going to be my new wow, I'm gonna be here for a while fandom or what.
I agree with the poster above who said that fandom moves fast now. I kind of hate it because it means we get all these superficial trope-y fics (which I love, don't get me wrong!) but man. I feel like I was spoiled with SGA. There were trope-y fics, crack fics, long, glorious fics, AUs that didn't involve coffee shops...
Sigh. I wish there was some way to encourage that with Star Wars because I'm selfish and want all the things.
