I really don't think "bullied" is the word for "told them they were annoying", especially considering they were actually annoying. Having a consensus over how people should behave, even if it sometimes is against what you personally prefer, is called compromising in a community, not ~bullying.

please. if ppl want to set community guidelines, that's all good. ask the mod to set rules or suggest new rules. whatever. but everyone was ganging up on that one person and it went beyond just saying "stop being annoying." people were going on about how they couldn't scroll because their phones were crappy or some such histrionic bullshit. others were backseat modding and accusing folks of posting too much because they followed the same bonus format that is commonly used in memes. it was a mess and people were being so extra about something that's really nothing more than a minor inconvenience. like the other anon said a lot of the wank has been deleted but y'all trying to deny it or make it sound less nasty now doesn't change the fact that it happened.

That person was being really nasty too, so don't act like it was "bullying" instead of a perfectly two way street.

i don't know that person but lashing out is not exactly an uncommon reaction when people feel like they're being ganged up on. they are wrong too for doing that but they didn't really instigate the conflict. yeah they posted stupidly long prompts that annoyed people but there was no prompt length rule at the time. the problem really started when anons from here posted shit on another meme and planned to troll prompts here and some anon shit stirrer linked it here. the whole thing was so over-the-top.

i usually just prefer to lurk and read stormpilot fic and occasionally read this thread to see if there are any interesting spoilers or theories being discussed. i only commented on this because it's ridiculous that people can't have a different opinion about that whole mess without others trying to dismiss them.

They reacted badly after multiple people dogpiled them for prompts that weren't even breaking the rules when they were posted, but they were hardly the instigator, and they were bullied.

Sorry you don't like the thought of people being called on their bullying.

Oh my god yay let's continue emptying the word "bullying" of its meaning!

bully (n.) Look up bully at Dictionary.com
1530s, originally "sweetheart," applied to either sex, from Dutch boel "lover; brother," probably a diminutive of Middle Dutch broeder "brother" (compare Middle High German buole "brother," source of German Buhle "lover;" see brother (n.)).

Meaning deteriorated 17c. through "fine fellow" and "blusterer" to "harasser of the weak" (1680s, from bully-ruffian, 1650s). Perhaps this was by influence of bull (n.1), but a connecting sense between "lover" and "ruffian" may be in "protector of a prostitute," which was one sense of bully (though not specifically attested until 1706). The expression meaning "worthy, jolly, admirable" (especially in 1864 U.S. slang bully for you!) is first attested 1680s, and preserves an earlier, positive sense of the word.
bully (v.) Look up bully at Dictionary.com
1710, from bully (n.). Related: Bullied; bullying.

So we all agree the people who finally got that annoying user to stop spamming are worthy, jolly, and admirable then? Good.

Keep telling yourself that, if it makes you feel better about yourself.
