I would like either Finn or any OC who deserted from the First Order to basically observe and mentally compare the workings/command structure of the First Order and the Resistance. What are the main differences? Opinions on the leadership? Personal life in the FO vs. Resistance?
Can be serious or crack. You can add in background ships if you want (I prefer slash when it's about Hux and am not terribly fond of Reylo but anything else is fair game) but I am more than content if it stays fully Gen.

++++ if there are aspects of the First Order that the POV character actually genuinely preferred (this would probably work better with an OC than with Finn in canon context but anything goes)

After years of training with Luke, Rey has become a powerful Force-user, but the Jedi code expects her to repress her nature as an omega through meditation and self-control.

Then she comes back to the Resistance to act as their most powerful weapon and encounters Finn, now a commander, a skilled tactician... and an unbonded alpha.

At first she tries to stick to Luke's training and act as his professional colleague. But he keeps ordering her into the heat of battle or off on missions and it's driving her wild. She starts to get reckless in her attempts to push the boundaries with her commander.

Finally, General Organa decides that her behaviour is getting dangerous and tells Finn that if he feels the same way about Rey as she clearly does about him, could he please just act like an alpha and bring her into line?

Cue Finn going full alpha on Rey, to her utter relief and joy.

One night he comes home one night to find Rey, an enemy agent, asking him for protection from Kylo, one of his government's own assassins and Hux's lover from his youth. She offers herself to him in return, only for him to learn that she is a turncoat playing him to help her lover Kylo kill him on behalf of his bosses. But in the midst of the assassination attempt he convinces Kylo that maybe Rey is using him for her own gains, and draws Kylo in with promises of rekindling their own flame.

Kylo gets his hand/arm chopped off in combat. He's thrilled to be carrying on the family tradition.  The whole way back to the Finalizer/medbay he is grey-faced, shocky, and elated, babbling about the importance of symbols, history, should he get the synth-skin or go for the austere metal look, etc. His escort -- either Hux or(/and?) Phasma -- is just trying to get him there before he loses all of his blood.

Upon becoming the Master of the Knights of Ren, Snoke gives Kylo Ren a skinny red haired toy to sate his baser urges on.

Rey has been watching everything unfold and is afraid she isn't strong enough to kill or incapacitate Kylo by herself. Instead she intercepts him just before he reaches Finn, and to buy Finn time to escape, she distracts Kylo by telling him she wants him to teach her. She tries to flirt and Kylo, angry at her for burning his face and refusing him until now, escalates the situation into sex. Rey goes with it to keep him busy as long as possible.

Afterwards she feels ashamed but Finn looks after her and helps her recover.

Poe starts showing up with nasty-looking bruises. Naturally, his very protective squadrons are alarmed. Did someone beat him up? (Do they have to beat someone up in turn?) Has he been going out on secret missions and getting his ass kicked? Has he gotten into BDSM? Poe deflects their questions, but BB-8 tattles: turns out sweetheart is so distracted by basically everything Finn does (i.e. smiling, laughing, breathing) that he's too distracted to watch where he's going and keeps bumping into and tripping over things.

+ Until now, Poe and Finn have been secretly pining, but this revelation brings them together.

First Order falls. The Resistance finds a cloning facility, and within it, various clones of Hux, most have already starved to death. They save one, and the man was soft, gentle, and sweet, nothing like General Starkiller.

Ben Solo killed Snoke to save his mother, but he is still tortured by the Force. Clone Hux eventually ends up as his caregiver in the rehab facility. Ben trusts his nurse so so much.

+ Hux was a clone. But he was also the one in charge of Starkiller. One must be creative to survive.
+ One day Hux and Ben were both gone. Leaving behind a station full of dead rehab staff.

His officers and soldiers would be surprised to know how soft his feet and legs are, exfoliated, then massaged with the best of cream. Callouses shaved. And after his toenails are clipped and oiled he puts polish on.

But of course someone finds out. Mitaka? Kylo? Phasma? FN-2187? Hux is not alarmed, offers to give them a return treatment. It's not like any of them have a lot of time to sit down and relax, let alone treat themselves.

Gen: Chef Hux

Hux works when Hux needs to work, regardless of whether his shift has ended or not. He doesn't get to have set meal times so when he's hungry he visits the kitchen to make his own food. He's General, he runs the ship (until Smoke deigns that it's his responsibility too), he can do whatever he wants in the kitchen. And fact is he's damn good at making simple cafeteria grub into a five-star meal.

In turn Mitaka, Phasma and Kylo (and perhaps a handful of Stormtroopers, with or without FN-2187) come to investigate what Hux is doing / what's happening in the kitchen. Realising he has more company Hux keeps cooking more food, treating the small gathering to delicious food - and warning them to not get word out.

+ Someone thinks they can help out with the cooking. Remarkably Hux channels another raging British chef with an impressive array of insults.

After Ben returns to the Resistance because of whatever handwavey plot reasons, he finds out that his mom basically adopted Finn while he was off being evil and he's of course, insanely jealous but also insanely guilty about having the right to call her "mom" anymore. Finn takes to brotherhood like he takes to everything new in his life: quickly and with unbelievable kindness. He talks to Ben about what he thinks being a mom means, from the short time he's had one: unconditional love and unconditional forgiveness. Finn even offers to step aside as the adopted son so Ben and Leia can focus on each other. He's learning about what being a brother means, after all.

Of course Hux isn't interested in a truce, so he requests the one thing he knows to be off limits: General Leia's son Ben. But before Leia is even able to protest, Ben agrees. Now unable to take everything back, Hux finds himself with a new consort by his side.
After the official public claiming ceremony (which is broadcasted all over the First Order territories and of course the Republic, too and starts as dub-con for both, but they get into it) they need to learn how to make this work. In the beginning it's very awkward, but Hux isn't actually a complete asshole, so he never forces himself on Ben and gives him all kinds of gifts. After some time, Ben grows used to his role as a consort (and goes by Kylo Ren from then on) and Hux finds that he has gained a valuable new strategic talent in him.
Also once they decide to have sex it's incredible.
