There's been some prompts like this but this is different, I promise!

Kylo Ren never happened, the massacre of the Jedi did happen, ordered by Snoke and conducted by the Knights of Ren, Luke is still missing, and Ben is presumed dead along with the other padawans. The belief is that there are no Force users with the Resistance.

Hux is captured by the Resistance, he cuts off his own tongue as a show of defiance - nothing they can do can make him talk, he could maybe answer yes and no questions, but they're useless for the information they need. Unless they provide means for a written confession (which means lack of bound wrists, which, considering what he is willing to do to himself is not a good idea), they're screwed. He figures this at least will buy him time, and if it doesn't, he'd rather be executed anyway and he fucked them over so he still wins.

And then, Ben Solo walks in.
And he's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.
And it's not the first time they've met.
And he can talk to him inside his head.

So Finn and Poe have started dating, and one of the ground soldiers Finn is training with jokingly says, "Dating a pilot, huh? How's it feel to be the second most important thing to someone after their plane?" And it's like, a long-standing joke that the pilots are more in love with the sky than anything else, except Finn DOESN'T KNOW THE JOKE. So he thinks it's sincere, and he is THRILLED to be the second most important thing in Poe's life. He's never been the second most important ANYTHING before. So he's in an amazingly good mood and Poe thinks it's adorable and asks why he's so cheerful, and Finn, sweet, sweet Finn, cheerfully brags that he's REALLY HAPPY to be second place in Poe's heart.

And Poe just kind of stares at him in this heartbroken way that Finn interprets as "Oh, am I Not? Well, of course not. You have BB-8. I don't mind third!" And Poe is stunned and keeps getting sadder and Finn just keeps working himself down the list until he's like, "Uh, top ten is still good! I've never been in anyone's top ten before either."

And Poe just kind of grabs him and hugs him and is like, "Dude. Let me tell you something very important..."

And you know the rest.

Finn, Poe, and Hux end up in a situation where they have to temporarily work together to survive (ambushed by gangs, stranded on a planet, on a ship that's about to crash, etc). Two Resistance soldiers and a First Order officer having to cooperate is awkward enough without adding in the fact that Hux and FN-2187 used to be a thing before Finn defected.

+ Poe and Hux both wondering what the hell Finn saw/sees in the other.
+ Finn didn't so much break up with Hux as he ran away with an important prisoner, joined the Resistance, and just never called again. Hux is still not Over This.
+ Poe would have really appreciated being told at some point that 'just this guy- this officer guy' Finn was seeing in the First Order was General 'Starkiller' Hux.
+ Poe and Hux end up bonding over talking about Finn. Finn is Not Okay with this and wishes they would get back to fighting please.

Either they're both with the Resistance and are running the mission together, or they're still on separate sides and happen to be sent after the same target (preference would be for the latter, but either is ok).

They get picked up by the target together (or run into each other this way if on separate sides) and the mission ends up requiring them to go all the way with him, providing each of them with a very unexpected perspective on the other.

Hux is face-blind. He can tell people apart once he knows them long enough, but he's terrible at recognising faces during his daily life. Especially during official events, he uses a technical gadget of some sort (contact lense with facial recognition?) to not embarrass himself when talking to important officials.
During one such events, the gadget malfunctions and he has to rely on Kylo (who is either naturally gifted at remembering faces or plucks the info from the heads of the people around him) to mentally prompt him the names of the officials he's talking to. (He keeps panicking because he doesn't fully trust Kylo to not prank him by telling him the wrong names, but Kylo, surprisingly, doesnt.)

Could be anything from official in-universe First Order business over Emperor Hux at an important party to Senator type AU.

She's just planning to take the loot back to her boss and claim her share... until she realises that a very surprised Prince Finn is sitting in the back of her stolen speeder.

Now Rey's on the run with the very angry Prince and a priceless treasure, being chased by both the local police, the royal guards AND a crime lord who'd very much like to ransom the Prince for extra cash...

Hux created a clone of Poe during his time on the Finalizer. He originally intended to use him for interrogation/experimentation (clones retain all memories of the original up to that point) but decided to stash him at his vacation house for personal use instead.
