During a mission, Finn is captured by a First Order squadron, but they don't know who he is, they only suspect he's a Resistance fighter. They contact Kylo to come interrogate Finn.

Rey has been watching everything unfold and is afraid she isn't strong enough to kill or incapacitate Kylo by herself. Instead she intercepts him just before he reaches Finn, and to buy Finn time to escape, she distracts Kylo by telling him she wants him to teach her. She tries to flirt and Kylo, angry at her for burning his face and refusing him until now, escalates the situation into sex. Rey goes with it to keep him busy as long as possible.

Afterwards she feels ashamed but Finn looks after her and helps her recover.
