I love AUs where characters are placed in different settings throughout history.

I agree about research etc. Although I personally knew it didn't happen on Takodana, I did not know the planet the Resistance was on. I figured out through other fics........and even then I was like "???was this mentioned in the movie???"

Then again, I have terrible memory.

I can understand people who say they don't like how tumblr call out culture can lead to bullying behaviors. That's fair. I don't get comments like this though.

Most the people I follow who post/reblog what you're talking about are women of color. I'm guessing they probably do, in fact, have some idea what misogyny and racism look like. While I'm sure you are the leading authority on What Actually Counts, how about you step down for a bit and listen to what others are saying. If people feel like fandom treats black characters and female characters poorly it might just be because it does.

I'm so bad with planet names. I knew Jakku. I called the other planets Maz's planet and the Resistance planet. While I knew Finn and Poe reunited on the resistance planet I could totally see mixing up the planets names if I saw the wrong one in a different fanfic.

OP - it probably was a Vader/Luke situation where maybe one or two remembered it wrong and wrote it and then other people who didn't remember it well just started to remember it like that. There was so much happening in that scene is not hard to get why, plus Han and Leia do reunite so it's also like people confused both reunions.

Again, it's not all of Tumblr. It's great that you follow the people who aren't misusing social justice issues to ship bash and shame. The tumblrites you follow are likely not the "Tumblr SJWs" mentioned above.

That's what I got too and why I partially believe the Rey Skywalker theories. Like I get him reacting that way about Finn. But his reaction to "the girl" was way too strong for someone he shouldn't know.

I forgot Aliens in that list too, which would work well for the SW universe.

I'm not in the Kylux fandom, but you bring a good point. It's a thought I've had about the idea of Kylo "redeeming himself" type of scenarios too. There needs to be a big catalyst for me to see turn away from Snoke and if that happens, I don't see him blindly following anyone else.

This is why I like the idea of him sort of following in Luke/Kenobi/Yoda's footsteps of just going away if he's redeemed and not killed.

AYRT. Nice! Adam Raised a Cain is the obvious choice, but I wouldn't have guessed the others, and those are great choices.

How do you feel about Atlantic City for Han and Leia? The lyrics don't necessarily match, but imo the tone totally does.

I don't know if one exists for Star Wars yet, but Silent Hill AUs. All of them.

One of the most interesting AUs I've ever read was a Dead Like Me AU in the House fandom.

I'd die for an In The Flesh AU. And a Watchmen AU.

i trained with a bo staff for a loooong time and the one bo i got that was my favorite was this gorgeous amber-colored pine wood, so my lightsaber would be double-bladed (since im guessing itd be wielded pretty similar to a bo) and amber.

oh, christ, back in like 2012 there was this amazing RoseMary fic where they saw each other right as the doors on a subway closed...except one of them was on the train and the other was still on the platform, complete strangers. the rest of the story was about all these other odd coincedences they kept having that put them together until finally one was like "do you to hamg out sometime on purpose?" beautifully written, too. in the glory days of homestuck it had some impressively well-done AUs (and some horribly bad, too)

for tfa, though? id LOVE to read a Roaring 20's/Prohibition Era/Bootleggers AU. sign me tf up.

can i ask what it is that you hate about people headcanoning characters as autistic? is it specifically when ppl who aren't autistic do it? or is there a certain quality of that kind of writing that annoys you (like people applying stereotypes or whatevs to characters in order to make them "read" to others as autistic?) or is it just that there's no canon evidence?

not trying to fight, just genuinely curious.
