I'm the opposite -- I mostly only fill. There's something liberating about the anonymity of kinkmemes and I love the challenge of hitting all the points the OP requested. Also, using other people's prompts helps me get over writing hurdles and work on my weaknesses: they provide most of the idea, I focus on the writing part, instead of getting stuck in the brainstorming phase.
On the other hand, I've never started a discussions because I have a strange sort of social anxiety (same reason why I bring myself to start a tumblr) and I've never prompted coz I horde my ideas jealously, even though I know, realistically, I'll probably never write all of them.

I had that problem with Oscar Isaac's stuff (I binge-listened to his stuff from inside llewyn davis - his voice). Mr. Kennedy was stuck in my head for three days straight.

Da the point that you'd rather be top dog on an archive than contribute to the existing one? You're right it doesn't.
My point that the Mods are specifically looking for people who have worked of Delicious archives in the past. Jesus, if you guys don't want an archive just say so. There is no need to be so negative when someone is trying to throw a positive idea out there. I don't work with Delicious or fit the requirements the mods are looking for so offered an alternative. I try to stay out of wank, but people are right to say this place is negative for no real reason.
I'm sorry for trying to do something nice to help people on this meme find fills and prompts, I will keep it in mind next time.

I think you should take this question up with the mods. They were looking for people to work on the Delicious archive; if you offer your experience at archiving on other sites, they may jump at it and tell you to get going. Then it won't be a matter of whether or not people are interested' in another archive. It will simply be the newest addition to this kink meme, and most likely people will be happy to use it as long as it is updated frequently and is easy to use. OTOH, if the mods feel they/we will be happier sticking with the Delicious account, you will have your answer and all this will be moot anyway. Sorry, that last sentence is a little more blunt than I would like, but it is true.

That's what I mentioned in my OP which people chose to ignore before pilling up on me. I wanted to see if there was interest in a secondary archive and then as per my OP, I was going to ask the mods if they would be fine with the idea (in my other archives the mods had access to all the "main" archives--it was a large meme so some of had ship specific archives).
I don't know why people took it as an attack on the mods when I make it clear I wouldn't do this without their approval.
It doesn't matter now anyway. I won't do something people are just going to be negative about as the last thing I want is more wank connected to this theme. :)

Actually in your post you said "we'll likely have to ask the mods first" which could come across as a little dismissive of the mods perhaps? Maybe if you had said,"I wanted to know if people were interested before I asked the mods", it might have been taken differently.

You can mention that you've gotten some mixed reactions to the idea here on the discussion post; that way the mods can take all the facts and opinions they know of into consideration while making their decision.

The only fictional interjection I'm embarrassed about is my tendency to say "Ay, shedonza!" in contexts where I need to seem like an adult. I'm not even that big of a Disney princess fan, it just wormed its way in there.

I meant that if people were interested and wanted to take part, we would still need to get the mod's final say so it wasn't final. But I also didn't see the mods having an issue with an extra archive so it would 'likely' not be an issue.

In the context in which you used it, 'likely' means 'probably', and there wasn't any 'probably' about it. You would need to ask them.

I WISH I could write the types of fics that consistently move people to tears, but I've always been more of a humor writer. Any time I try to write angst or drama, it just comes out kind of -- flat.
With porn, I don't always get the reactions right, if that makes sense. Like one character is doing an action, and I'll have no problems describing that, but he could be doing it to a plank of wood for all that the other character reacts. It's something I've been working on, but I always dread when I get to a porn scene.

Your title does not help. To call your proposal a 'real' archive strongly implies that you consider the existing archive a useless fraud of an archive and implies insult on those who control it. That likely was not your intention, but it is the impression given.
