Because of reasons, Snoke dies/disappears and/or his psychic hold on Kylo is severed.

Suddenly, Kylo doesn't have a voice in his head telling him what to do.

He realises many of the things he thought were his own mental processes were really being tampered with by Snoke - like, the light calls it's not painful! Snoke just inflicted pain whenever he noticed that was happening.

He sees the logic in some of the things he's done, but others have him like WTF WAS I THINKING?! Things like destroying consoles - now he knows THAT was all him because tantrums are literally the only thing that he could CHOOSE to do. But now he knows they're a dick thing to do.

He loves his mom and uncle! He was resentful of his dad but like... MURDER?!

Everything's a mess and he doesn't know how to cope. He's glad he can make his own choices but he hates the clarity.

He knows his mom would believe him, but, he also kinda misses Snoke.

He has to rebuild and learn who he is now.

I could picture Hux as being the kind of "devotee" who doesn't actually believe/follow the cult's dogma, but is good at giving impassioned speeches that convince OTHERS to join, while Phasma keeps the "flock" in line as a masked enforcer...

Alpha!Finn has never been allowed to give in to instinct because of the FO discipline, and he's long mastered perfect control to keep him out of trouble and under the radar as a Stormtrooper.

Now, in the Resistance, he's learning people have certain expectations of him as an Alpha, and he somehow keeps defying or overturning those expectations. He wonders if it's a bad thing, but Poe assures him that it's not (and the way Poe smells when he's saying tells Finn that Poe actually really APPRECIATES it).

tldr: Finn isn't the alpha everyone thinks he's going to be; instead, he's exactly the one Poe needs.

The two of them get up to what sound like incredibly athletic and drawn out sessions, and their neighbors on either side of their quarters (Rey? Jess? Snap? LUKE?) CAN'T SLEEP.

Poe's an ad-man who bets a coworker that he can woo anyone that coworker chooses in order to win a big account.
Finn is a columnist for a gay magazine that has to write a column on how to lose a guy in ten days.

Poe is all about the healthy exploration of what Finn likes. Finn is infinitely curious, and has no predisposed notions of what sex is supposed to be like (and also zero sense of shame in asking), which is how he came up with a LIST of things he's interested in trying. Poe's actually really impressed: he admittedly hasn't tried half of those things.

Hux makes most of the training sims in use on the Finalizer, and among the First Order. The majority are combat or tactics oriented, but there are some that are more game like: anti-gravity, obstacle courses, mazes etc. He does good work, and is allowed his... eccentricities.

There are some that are private use, locked to just him. People assume these must be some sort of deviant, sexual thing. It's not. It's where Hux expresses all his crazy. Reality warping, endlessly repeating hallways, impossible geometry, excrutiatingly detailed recreations of battles that went wrong, nausea inducing tones and flashing lights, enormous interactive star charts, shrinking rooms, sensory deprivation/overload, Hux's own trauma replays, you keep escaping only to end back up in the sim again -- all his experimentations with pushing the medium, finding the absolute limits. Think Google DeepDream meets Cube. Some are lovely. Most are not. The FO wasn't keen on torture sims, as it turns out, but one has to have an outlet.

Someone manages to get into these locked sims. They really, really wish they hadn't.

The first time Leia sees her son as an adult, he naked, on a leash, and at the feet/in the lap of either Snoke or emperor Hux during political negotiations.

+Kylo is either fucked or forced into some other sex act in front of his mother.
+Leia is accompanied by one or more of the Resistance trio.

I like that Obi-Wan won't be able to drink the booze but he'll be able to emphatically gesture with the bottle, or pretend it's a lightsaber as he re-enacts certain key scenes for Hux. "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!" *bottle sloshes around in mid-air*
