OP here, ok #2 is super interesting, please tell me if I need to back off here, but I'm kind of a fandom Old and I've been similarly ??? at the whole nomenclature of sex/kink as "sinning", like-- is this is a thing? Are ppl more at ease writing kink/smut/general gay sex/sex in general that features villain characters because they're already "sinful" people and so giving them intense sex lives isn't like, profaning them in some way? Is this related to the super rage of anti Reylo people who insist that having Rey fuck Kylo (or whoever? idk they don't seem to be Peanut shippers) is tarnishing her in some way? Or?

well, I just feel bad when I make Finn or Rey or Poe suffer or put then in non-con situations because just. why? they have been through enough. but hux or kylo? the people that kill in cold blood? don't care and i can get all my really, really messed up kinks out (the "locked up in basements, torture, slut-shaming" variety). i am kinda neutral towards reylo (not my ship) so i don't know fic trends.
for other people, i am sure they feel differently. as they say where i come from, everyone appreciates the sunset for different reasons.
DA When I want to read or write bad things happening to bad people... Or bad people doing bad things... It's not the sex/kinks that are the focus of "would I feel guilty doing this to a different character?". Sometimes the sex is the most human/vulnerable/understandable thing that Hux or another FO person might get up to.
I also really enjoy the dynamic of someone out of control and childish vs someone who is either financially responsible or attempting to maintain order/discipline.
