DISCUSSION/OFF-TOPIC POST

Use this post for things that are neither prompts nor questions for the mod.

I haven't seen any rude comments on the actual prompt post for a few days, just some anons politely trying to leave comments about length or formatting.

The only snark comments I've seen lately have been in this discussion post, the mod post, and the updated rules post. If they want to be assholes on those posts, let them, as long as it's not on the prompt post or as replies to fills.

Don't add more fuel to the fire by complaining about this. You're only going to be inundated with anons mocking you for being "nice" or having an opinion that differs from theirs. Best to just ignore it.

DA.

I haven't seen any rude comments on the actual prompt post for a few days, just some anons politely trying to leave comments about length or formatting.

The mods have been deleting the really rude comments on the main post, including at least one anon getting insulting about a fill that didn't break any rules or do anything obnoxious. It's been noticeable on flat view before the mods catch and delete the issues. Someone, or multiple someones, are clearly trying to start wank.

Insulting a fill? Are you sure? Or did you mean prompt?

DA but I've seen several anons insulting fills themselves, yes. And it wasn't in the tone of, "This was my prompt and you didn't do it the way I wanted." They appeared to just be passers-by saying, "This is terrible, why would you write this?" Which is... unnecessary??

Wow, that's awful. :(

having not seen the comment/fill in question, I can't really agree or disagree with you specifically. However, sometimes you get fills on prompts that are so far removed from the prompt that the prompter feels justifiably annoyed.

No, I mean a fill. I don't remember the details or wording, but they called it tedious and said something about being glad the author had moved on to (other pairing) so that they would stop posting their fic for (this pairing).

Gosh, that really is mean! But I don't think rare instances of that should cause a rule against people being free to be the assholes they want on the other posts, away from the prompts and the fills.

AYRT. My point was that the meanness is not confined to the other posts, and the OP literally put the words "prompt posts" in the subject of their comment, so I'm not sure how that's relevant.
