You are right. Being in several fandoms for 15+ years has opened my eyes about a lot of things. Maybe I should have followed my own advice from the end of my comment above. I took the hate on reylo personal and vented. Anyway, I will keep reading Reylo like the adult that I am. I know that it is problematic. Like drinking alcohol, it should be handled responsable.
Well, if you 'consume it irresponsibly' by reading or writing fanfic on your office computer during work hours, or sit and scroll through tumblr when you're supposed to be serving customers or something else, it could get you fired. At that point it may be an addiction issue though, which is its own problem.
