I strongly feel that, as Kylo Ren isn't a human from Earth, we can't just willy nilly throw our understandings of a very specific disorder or neurological divergence onto him for no reason other than cliched and sometimes offensive stereotypes.

I was totally picturing Finn staying with the resistance and training as a medic or some other notes stereotypically gendered female role like that and we'd still get lots of plot about him learning what it means to be the resistance, while Rey galavants and learns to be a Jedi (stereotypically gendered male role) and comes back to see Finn like "honey, I'm home!" and Finn is all "I've been waiting for you <3"
Don't really see how that's turning a woman into a Mary Sue, suspect some internalized misogyny on the part of some ppl who want their strong female characters to be very careful not to overshadow anybody and remain palatable. Also, the Mary Sue problem of "she's better than all other girls" by having multiple strong females who all display different strengths.

Very true -- I just wanted to point out that the idea of a combined single-word designation for tagging does make sense in that context. You're absolutely right about the '/'.
If not for the age difference, I would be totally cool with Rey/Chewie, although I ship Chewie/Leia more.

Honestly? As someone who is Jewish and lost a ton of family during the war, I'm actually more offended by the meteoric rise of Hux in the fandom as the big standout slash co-star-- this character who is both a blatant Nazi analogue and, coincidentally, the only other white guy available in the secondary cast-- than I am by a lone Nazi fetishist who is actually going to be open and honest about the fetish play they're engaging in.

I think he's the big standout slash co-star in this meme, but not in fandom as a whole. If you go by AO3 tags, Poe and Finn outnumber him by far.
From what I've seen in other fandoms, a lot of times it's just the author thinking it's ~2 edgy 4 u~ like they're the only ones brave or mature enough to tackle subjects like that.
