Nonnie, don't bother, the anons are just looking to troll someone and cause wank.

I started out and am still very much into all possible Rey/Poe/Finn combinations (Rey and Poe both love Finn SO MUCH! Finn loves them both SO MUCH! I want more canon interaction between Rey and Poe SO MUCH!)

...but then I also tripped and fell headfirst into Poe/Leia which I did not see coming. I didn't foresee having any younger/older generation ships. But. POE/LEIA.

I don't really ship anyone, but am open to being convinced by fic or by canon.

If you aren't writing because you have a story you want to tell, but because you want a response from other people, you will always be disappointed. Tell the story you want to tell, and please yourself. If no one responds to it, you've still told the story you wanted to tell, and that is a fine thing to take pride in. If anyone else does tells you they like it, that's just gravy.

I'm sure your fics are fine, but I have noticed a couple things about this meme/fandom:

-the meme moves insanely fast

-it seems like a lot of OPs never come back to comment

If you're looking for eyes on your fic, kink memes aren't really the place for that. You're never going to get the quantity of feedback here you will posting other places just because the format doesn't really lend itself to that (and you can't see hits.)

Also, I personally won't touch a multi-part fic on a meme especially unless it's finished or so amazing it keeps me coming back. It's hard to track multi-parters and so many people never bother to finish them that I just don't bother. My personal policy on posting multi-parters is to not post them at all until they're complete and I can post them all at once.

If you're looking for feedback in a tangible way, make a fake account and post to Ao3 or maybe ff.net.

It totally sucks to write something you're into and not get much feedback. I try to focus on what I got out of writing as opposed to what other people think. There's awesome fills on here that got very little attention and less-than-great fills that have tons of comments just because of pairing, timing, whatever.

No there was a fantastic script to get around that IIRC

It's harder to track fills on DW. I wouldn't take it too personally, nonnie.

I agree with everything in this comment. Poe/Leia is the ship that snuck up on me and I want scenes of them together in the next movie more than anything else.

People being rude on the prompt posts

(Anonymous) 2016-01-16 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I noticed it with a couple of prompts, somebody leaving rude and obnoxious comments about prompt length, before the prompt length rule got implemented?

Plus a lot of people being mean and spamming some posts with negativity, enough that the mod gets busy having to freeze more threads than they should have to.

I know we can't do anything about it since everybody's anonymous but I wish whoever these people are would stop being so rude, and needlessly cruel to people in this kink meme.

I guess we just have to report as soon as they do it again, but I feel bad for the mod as well, because usually mods don't have to be this busy on a prompting meme when it's not to freeze posts or make announcements.

I haven't seen any rude comments on the actual prompt post for a few days, just some anons politely trying to leave comments about length or formatting.

The only snark comments I've seen lately have been in this discussion post, the mod post, and the updated rules post. If they want to be assholes on those posts, let them, as long as it's not on the prompt post or as replies to fills.

Don't add more fuel to the fire by complaining about this. You're only going to be inundated with anons mocking you for being "nice" or having an opinion that differs from theirs. Best to just ignore it.

Learn the meaning of "troll"--it isn't "disagreement".

This is a really nice, well-thought-out, sincere comment that addresses multiple angles. You are great.

I don't see what's wrong with "being mean" asking as its not about kinks or writing. People are allowed to be sarcastic here, off topic. Trying to enforce your definition of niceness on everybody smacks of totalitarianism.

And maybe you should stop getting your panties in a twist because someone expressed a different opinion.

You see how that can be applied to both me and the OP? The difference is I'll defend your right to say it and OP won't.

Totalitarianism? You have to be kidding me.

Totally agreed, but you're just going to get a bunch of entitled little shits on this comment too. I think the only thing to do is ignore it until their pissiness runs its course.

DA.

I haven't seen any rude comments on the actual prompt post for a few days, just some anons politely trying to leave comments about length or formatting.

The mods have been deleting the really rude comments on the main post, including at least one anon getting insulting about a fill that didn't break any rules or do anything obnoxious. It's been noticeable on flat view before the mods catch and delete the issues. Someone, or multiple someones, are clearly trying to start wank.

That's not very nice. I'm going to report you to the mod.

Insulting a fill? Are you sure? Or did you mean prompt?

Serious question: are you new to kinkmemes?

Re: People being rude on the prompt posts

(Anonymous) 2016-01-16 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
DA but I've seen several anons insulting fills themselves, yes. And it wasn't in the tone of, "This was my prompt and you didn't do it the way I wanted." They appeared to just be passers-by saying, "This is terrible, why would you write this?" Which is... unnecessary??

Re: People being rude on the prompt posts

(Anonymous) 2016-01-16 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I mean a fill. I don't remember the details or wording, but they called it tedious and said something about being glad the author had moved on to (other pairing) so that they would stop posting their fic for (this pairing).

Re: People being rude on the prompt posts

(Anonymous) 2016-01-16 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Gosh, that really is mean! But I don't think rare instances of that should cause a rule against people being free to be the assholes they want on the other posts, away from the prompts and the fills.

Re: People being rude on the prompt posts

(Anonymous) 2016-01-16 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
AYRT. My point was that the meanness is not confined to the other posts, and the OP literally put the words "prompt posts" in the subject of their comment, so I'm not sure how that's relevant.
