I feel like just based on this comment we would probably get along in real life.

Kylo/Poe and Finn/Poe
I'm beginning to forget Poe was missing half ot the time during the movie..

(Anonymous) 2016-01-08 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Why do I love bottom!Poe so much?
He's so cool and manly, he's the best pilot of the resistance, he's the oldest among the new main characters of tfa etc etc...but somehow the idea of him bottoming is so damn delicious :D

(Anonymous) 2016-01-08 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
I've gotten to a point where the more a character doesn't fit the standard stereotypical idea of a bottom, the more I want to see them enjoying the hell out of being stuffed full of dicks, but maybe that's just me.

Has anyone here seen Top Gun?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-08 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Literally all I can think about is how Poe and BB8 are Maverick and Goose, while Kylo Ren and Hux (or Snoke if you're into that sort of thing) are Iceman and Slider.

Finn and Rey can both be Charlie, of course.

Time zones?

What time zone is everybody in? I'm EST (-5) and I've noticed that a lot of kmeme activity goes on while I'm asleep, like 6am to noon. It just got me wondering.

First Fandoms?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-08 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
What was everyone's first fandom? How old were you? What made you go search out fandom or fic? I"m always really interested to see how people stumble across fandoms.

Is Star Wars anyone's first fandom?

I wrote my first Star Wars story at age 12 or 13, back in the mid-90s, so it was definitely one of my first fandoms. I wrote it because I loved the movies so much and wanted more. At the time I wasn't even aware of the term "fan fiction," since I wasn't really using the Internet then.

Me too! I saw the movies for the first time when I was 10 and started writing my own fanfic without even know what fanfic or fandom was. I kept them all in one of those cheao spiral notebooks.

I remember being so happy when I found Star Wars novels in the bookstore that were side stories or continuations of what happened after RotJ.

Mine was Harry Potter back around... 2000 or so? I stumbled across fanfiction by accident and woops, never turned back. :3 I'm also an old veteran of the Ron/Hermione vs Harry/Hermione ship wars and find it more than a little exhausting to wade through wank about Star Wars ships these days. (Maybe I'm just too much of a fandom granny to want to put up with that element anymore.)

Technically, Star Wars was my first fandom. I was born a few years after RotJ came out, so SW was still a big thing for my parents. A lot of kids at school grew up talking about those movies since, in the early to mid '90s, we didn't really have any new franchises to bond over. Even YA books weren't really that huge until HP came out.

But, when I saw Star Wars was my first fandom, I mean that I wrote fic and headcanoned about the characters by myself and with friends without knowing about fandom.

My first official fandom was Harry Potter. I stumbled onto it by accident. I was searching for the publication date of GoF and ended up finding a MSN community for Harry Potter that had posted a bunch of Harry/Draco fic. That's how I learned about slash and fic and fandom and I've never turned back.

HP fandom veteran here, too! As a former H/H (~pumpkin pie~) shipper, I totally agree that HP fandom exhausted me for ship wars and I didn't even participate in any back int he day. I don't have the energy to deal with ship wank anymore and just stick to my pairings and let everyone else fight about whose ship is better. To be honest, I sometimes find meta and manifestos for ships I enjoy to be exhausting.

Though, ngl, I was annoyed when JKR released that statement a year or two ago about how she felt the endgame ships should have been different. Way to revive decades old wank.

BUT I DON'T WANT POE TO ACCIDENTALLY KILL BB-8.

Probably Naruto in like 2005 lol. My first fic I ever wrote was definitely for Naruto. I was into Harry Potter before that but I didn't take part in any fandom activities until way later.

It was Star Wars! I didn't even know what I was writing was called fanfiction. My friends and I used to write stories for each other.

19 years later, here I am again.

Well, yes, that is the sliiiiight hitch in the plan. But! Consider! BB-8 isn't an organic being! They can have their disastrous run due to being too cocky, and then Poe can pay his penance by putting lots of time and effort into fixing BB-8 right up again. Think of how cute the scene where he turns it back on again for the first time will be!

29. This was my first fandom when I was but a child reading the Thrawn Trilogy and trying to find more to read about Mara Jade.

I'm so happy this fandom is exploding. There's gonna be a lot of shit and drama, but .... THERE'S GOING TO BE AWESOME STUFF TOO.

Baseball RPF.

Star Wars EU, but ... I mean, it was hard to find quality fic. I've been in and around this fandom since 1999.

I've been reading a lot of Generation Kill, but won't be writing in it. I'll read a lot, but wouldn't consider myself active in the fandom.

Oh wait. Alexander/Hephaistion (historical men, not necessarily the Oliver Stone portrayals).
