Fills writing

Anyone here ever only do self-fills? Anyone here afraid of doing long fills? In case you go off topic or misread the prompt, or write something the prompter doesn't like? Or run out of steam and wip forever?

Also are there any good long fills on this meme?

I've personally never posted anything that wasn't already finished, because I don't trust my ability to maintain steam for a half-finished WIP. As for worrying about going off-prompt for longer fills, I did once decide to write a continuation of a fill. It was a different tone from the light-hearted original, so I asked OP if they would mind if I posted it beneath their prompt. They never replied, so I cross-posted to AO3 only and did it that way.

I don't self-fill, but mostly because I don't really have ideas for prompts. That's part of the reason I love kinkmemes so much.

I've never posted a request so I can't say I've ever done a self-fill. But I'm working on a few longer fills so I'm not so much worried about the topic straying. Usually if I am I'll mention it or ask opinions in the post. I tend to post the longer fills my chapters (or in two parts if it's a really long one-shot). I've gotten a lot better at plotting out my fics so I can usually give a general idea about chapters when I'm posting something so readers know how many parts to expect.

On the topic of good long fills, I supposed it depends of your pairing preferences?

I've only once filled a prompt of my own, after it got a troll-fill. Different fandom.
