Doesn't happen in Takodana.

I've made this mistake myself and see a lot of people also make it, but now that I have been able to sit down and watch the film more carefully (in HD), their reunion actually happens on D'Qar. :\

I've never seen anyone making that mistake. They were both at Takodana at the same time, but they definitely didn't physically meet.

Damn it I want to go see the movie again now just to see the Resistance squadron response at Takodana and the "that's one hell of a pilot "scene again. I also want a fanvid of Poes squadron flying in to like, Flight of the Valkyries or Welcome to the Jungle or so many other songs. I can't wait for any fancies for this movie.

I have, mainly in passing from Poe or Finn remembering their hug and mentioning it happened there. I made it myself in one of mine, but to fix it I'll have to re-write like half the chapter.

The whole escape from the Finalizer would fit well too I think, (and maybe Poes lip-bite to the 'very sexy girl' part of the lyrics? XD)

They reunite on Takodana in the Disney Infinity game. Maybe people didn't quite remember the movie and thought it was a part of the game that followed the movie?

I agree about research etc. Although I personally knew it didn't happen on Takodana, I did not know the planet the Resistance was on. I figured out through other fics........and even then I was like "???was this mentioned in the movie???"

Then again, I have terrible memory.

I'm so bad with planet names. I knew Jakku. I called the other planets Maz's planet and the Resistance planet. While I knew Finn and Poe reunited on the resistance planet I could totally see mixing up the planets names if I saw the wrong one in a different fanfic.

OP - it probably was a Vader/Luke situation where maybe one or two remembered it wrong and wrote it and then other people who didn't remember it well just started to remember it like that. There was so much happening in that scene is not hard to get why, plus Han and Leia do reunite so it's also like people confused both reunions.

I had to look up what planet it WAS, but I knew it wasn't the planet they strafed.
