I don't know if I'd count as a Hux fan as I kind of have my issues with the character BUT what made me interested in writing him was that he was essentially a blank slate. I started to wonder what makes a person develop that kind of personality / what are the emotional consequences of living life in the First Order. It was an interesting challenge to try and find the humanity in someone who is thus far almost a caricature onscreen. Don't know if I succeeded personally, but I've seen several other fics where people gave Hux a personality that made him compelling and I think the lack of info on him really opens the door for people go in all different directions.
