George Lucas used/was inspired by/(appropriated?)/played with a lot of Asian ideas and some general mythology basics in the Star Wars verse. So we have warrior monk jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn and the Force. And we are blessed with Han Solo...I love Harrison Ford's Han, but he certainly doesn't look Chinese or Korean and so joins the list of "give me backstory on the origins of your name, please and thank you". I will concede that "Hans" Solo wouldn't have the same ring to it. I just wish that if, in that time long, long ago, in a galaxy far away, if ethnicity became less important than species or political affiliation, that the galactic flow of space travel would have made the slice of life/societies we get more interesting.
