This is killing me.

I think this is why I avoid most Kylo ships. I've never been a fan of people infantalizing villains (or rally any adult characters but the trend recently seems to be mainly for the dark boys type).

Infatilizing isn't really just reserved for "dark boys". People do it to villainous women. People do it to Phasma. People do it to Finn constantly.

Maybe, but it's always been far more common for dark boys than anyone else, I've seen it since my old Harry Potter days. I've never seen it done to female villains anywhere near to the same level.

Not really. You just notice it more because fandom complains about that more. It absolutely does happen to female villains if you're in a fandom where they fit the template of sympathetic villain (Regina, Azula). Why do people default to Phasma being a soft mom, when we know nothing about her? And again, it happens to male heroes who aren't that type just to emphasize how "pure" they are - again, see how people infantilize the fuck out of Finn.
