Yeah, apparently BB-8 originally auditioned for the part of Finn, and couldn't get past the fact that John got the part instead. It's a shame because John is such a lovely guy, and I always like to imagine that the cast are best buddies with each other outside of film shoots, but apparently not.

Didn't the same thing happen with R2 and Mark Hamill?

Yeah, I heard something along those lines. Although from what I gathered, it was Mark Hamill who auditioned for the part of R2 but got cast as Luke instead. Either way, there was definitely some bad feeling between the two on set.

Ah, that makes sense. To be honest, R2 is too salty to have played Luke. It never would have worked.

Funny, because I always thought R2 looked like a saltshaker, right from the start. I guess this means that sometimes you can tell a celebrity's personality from their looks.

He modeled his aesthetic off the 'pepper pot' Daleks, so that's understandable.
