I don't think it's necessary since the wank seems to be coming from everyone but the OP at the moment.

I think unless threads are frozen or better screened attention is still going to be given, because people don't all check the meme at the same time, and when someone new comes on and feels compelled to react to posts they feel attacked by, the wank starts again.

Please consider deleting/screening it. People will always give attention to stupid comments and troll bait. Every time we hope that the wank will not escalate, it does.
