He's said something similar before, and the same goes for casting different races, but I'm betting it's either going to be one of the new characters or someone in the spin off movies, since it wasn't specific whether it'd be in the main series or something like Rogue One.

I know people in fandom have already run with it as evidence that Poe is gay, but as much as I would like that to be true, I don't think it will be.

I blame fans as much as I blame movie and entertainment sites for egging them on with cherrypicked interviews and quotes.
