Media editor for a magazine. It's not as glamorous as people think it is when I tell them what I do.

In addition to my normal work, I happened to get stuck with managing some of our team's interns and assistants this year which I thought would be great, but it's more teaching them that what they're taught in the classroom does not have anything to do with what we do in the office and dealing with their culture shock of going from college life to professional office life. It's really an exercise in patience (which is probably good because I have no patience), since I know I was completely naive about office culture and norms when I first started working. It's exhausting.

The culture shock of office life was a real eye opener for me. It made me realize that for all the money I paid for a degree, college did not in any way prepare me for the workforce and sheltered me a lot more than I thought it did.
