OP

I really love your sortings here! Slytherin Finn and Slytherin Kylo I obviously agreed with you on to begin with (though thank you for writing out the paragraph about Kylo; I'd been having trouble putting it to words myself), and I could definitely see Gryffindor Rey, though I'll admit I still lean toward Hufflepuff for her.

Hufflepuff Poe!! I... I don't know, you may have convinced me on this one! Not totally sure, but, wow! I'll have to think about that. ♥

Ha, thank you! <3

I think for me it all comes down to asking what the character's motivations are: what drives them, what leads them to making the choices they do. Which, for me, is why Rey is firmly in Gryffindor: not only does she have the drive and the conviction and boldness, but everything we see her do is motivated by the question 'what is the right thing to do?'. Even wanting to return back to her family, which could be interpreted as being motivated by loyalty, I would say is more because she thinks it's what she SHOULD be doing and she's frightened of being alone. Which is what makes her decision to move forward with the Resistance an act of bravery: she overcomes her fear of being alone because it's the right thing to do, making her defining action in the film one of bravery IMO.

I was so happy to see another person who agrees with my on Slytherin Fin!!! I have theorized about this at length to my RL friends, who were like 'that's nice', haha. Happy that I've maybe converted you to Hufflepuff Poe., too. ;D
