i think, the older fen and authors called it back then not "reader/self insert" but original female /male character. OFC or OMC? (well , those that were modelled after yourself? or at least who you wanted to be, your ideal self? your own mary sue?) i had those! in my teenage years! like a lot :D
i think, i just didnt recognise them for what they were, because of the different term/wording?
