i actually wanted to discuss serious stuff (like how messed up i am for shipping kylux, and how i can identify with both eg one killing his father, and the other being mass murderer, but i am currently somewhat ill, so no seriousness today..)
so off to the core of why disney snatched SW, very likely not for the love of the force, but for the billions of EURO, Dollar, Yen, Yuan, and whatever currency, they are making, and are going to make :D

so far, i have not really been on a shopping tree, just TFA toothbrushes, and folders (yep, the real hardcopy kind of, where i can put my favorite kylux fics, that i printed, inside).

what else did you got?

I bought a Poe Dameron t-shirt, where you see him with his helmet, and him without the helmet in his flight suit (I think it's taken from a movie still where he's actually running towards Finn too!). BB-8 is on the shirt too.

Hux, Kylo Ren and Rey action figures. I'll probably have everyone eventually. I've been collecting Star Wars action figures for years.

I also bought Poe's Lego x-wing, which is now the coolest thing sitting in my living room. I really want one of the new TIE fighters too so I have a little fleet.

None. I don't rally understand the point of movie merchandise, and don't have any for any movie. But you do you!

I save my favourite fics to a kobo reader instead of printing them, but I do get s really satisfied sense of "there, now I'll have it forever even if the author deletes" when I do it.

well, its like i indirectly funding the movies that i love :P
the more money the producers make from a movie, the more likely they will more more of the same!
and i definitely want moaaaaaaaaaaaar of the new SW trilogy :D

and yes, i do the same with fics, since that horrific event 20 years ago, when i first joined online fic fandom.
there was a great archive for Jarod/ms Parker (the old show the pretender), and it was running great, and i was young, and never thought about saving anything offline.
one day, the archivist simply took the entire archive off the net, without warning or anything.
i couldnt save a single thing.
20 years, and i am still traumatized by that thing.
since then, no matter what i find online, fics or anything else, i am saving.
i must have 60,000 fics across my fandoms since then on harddrive.

I don't really have the money to spend (heating bills in the winter are brutal), but I really like the BB-8 scarf. It's cute.

I don't buy a lot of merch, so when I do I like it to be something useful, like clothing or a bag or scarves. I think the only other piece of fan merch I have is a Harry Potter house scarf.

we have been lucky so far, this winter being very mild.

and its really a cute idea, with the scarves, didnt think, i saw that anywhere!
most stuff is either office supplies and staples or plastic stuff like action figures, lightsabres and cups..
i wonder if there are huge lego stuff like the finalizer or any super star destroyer...

I would love to buy some clothes, but there is so little for girls and what I could find is either fanmade or too expensive. Usually both.

i feel you. not on the clothes part, but gods, the plastic lightsabres are so ugly, and the real handmade ones are like what 300 EUR :(

JCPenny's has some 40%off and Forever21 has some inexpensive ones for both men and women. The Forever21 has more generic Star Wars, while JCP has both generic Star Wars and some TFA specific clothes.

I got a calendar. I want a Poe stuffie.

hmm, not sure which country you are, but here in germany, lots of shops and stores have already marked down the TFA stuff.
i saw some really cute poe , finn ,and rey stuffies /Plushies! only 5 EUR!
(but since i ship kylo and hux, i didnt bought any of those...)

the shops i have been here, only had kylo or poe mugs left.

I have all the Star Wars Funko Pop figures. It's actually been really cool because there's only one place I can go to in person where I can get them, and I ran into the same store employee every time. He and I have a mututal love of Knights Of The Old Republic and the Clone Wars animated series and ended up dating.

We also sometimes play with all our various fandoms Funk figures and take pictures of stupid silly fun crossovers. I'm so lucky to have met him. <3

I got the novelisation and the visual dictionary, and I got a set of figurines that had Rey, Finn, Kylo, Phasma, BB8 and a flametrooper. Because they didn't come in the set I also got Hux and Poe as action figures - Hux is the better quality figure (nicer quality plastic, smoother joint movement, tidier casting and painting, better likeness) but Poe can actually sit down and move his head. I also got a blanket but it just says 'Star Wars' on it.

i as actually planning to buy the tie-in novel to TFA, but from what i have been reading here, it looks like its not really worth the money?

(do they actually have Han or leia or chewie, or did their screentimes werent worth the investment for figures?)

i saw blankets here, but none of them appealing to me, so i skipped, even though they werent even very expensive.

One thing I really regret not managing to buy was the Kylo Ren valentines chocolates. Because that shit was hilarious.

I am considering getting the Kylo 'Happy Birthday Dad' card for my father's birthday though. Because who doesn't want a birthday card that doubles as a thinly veiled patricide threat.

I live near a university and at the grocery store there's a pennant of Darth Vader with our school's mascot. I got it because it was so bizarre--why would Darth Vader root for our team versus any other team?! Do all the other big schools have customizable pennants too?!

I'm not a collector type person, if I buy something I have to use it often. I just can't afford to collect, once I'm old and rich, I'll collect all the things, lol.
I did buy quite a few of the Star Wars collection cosmetics. I love the ads, videos, and of course the colors and products so much! The mascaras has the original trilogy quotes.
At JCPenny's they have 40% off Star Wars clothes. I brought a cute BB-8 sleep shirt. I really wanted the Finn, Rey, and Poe shirt, but Poe looks like Sean Connery, and it looks really bootleg and awful, like how can they get Poe wrong?! So I didn't buy that one. From Forever21 I brought a black bodycon dress that has Empire 77 in silver on the back, and Vader and 2 stormtroopers on the chest. I wore it to the see TFA, lol.
