I've unfortunately found that unless your fill is on the most recent pages, it pretty much gets ignored. Forget filling something from round 1 or 2, because few people will read it.

That's why I flat view and have an alert for the fills post. I don't want to miss things.

Yes. You have to be a fast writer to get any notice on the meme. I'm working on a prompt from round 1, but I don't think many people visit that post anymore so I don't even know if anyone will read the fic when I post it.

I don't think it makes much of a difference. Fills posted to previous rounds get little to no comments once there's a new post up, even if they're posted to the fill post.

That's true, I've had to move my stuff to AO3 because at least with the kudos system you can tell if people enjoyed it. But here unless someone comments it is impossible to tell if the prompt/fill got any attention. worst with how fast it moves, which as you said means a lot of stuff gets lost and ignored.
