Oh, yes, I agree. I mean, I think they are intended to be a trio, but not necessarily a romantic trio, more like a friendship trio.
But yeah, over the past few years a lot of bigger fandoms have tended to be on the EVERYONE IS POLY train, which, no, they're not. It's cool if that's your headcanon, but let's stop acting like it's a canon fact or that it's wrong if someone isn't into polyamory.
