Name for Space Spanish?

I know that Galactic Basic/Standard = English for all intents and purposes, but as far as I can tell from Wookiepedia there doesn't seem to be a Star Wars-universe name for Spanish.

Am I just missing something? Or, failing that, what do you think would be a good way to Star Wars-ify other real-world languages?

This is such a good question? Some accents correspond to canon languages, but Spanish doesn't seem to have a counterpart. There's not even any canon languages based on irl Spanish that I can find. Maybe you could just leave the language unnamed in your fic? Like "they were speaking a language that so and so had never heard before" or "it's the language my parents spoke" or something like that.

It's a terrible question, because Basic =/= English.

As far as I know Basic is always the human language in which the story is told. Watching the movies in English: Basic = English, watching in the movies in Spanish: Basic = Spanish.

Exactly. English is just used in the movies to represent the common language ("Basic", aka Galactic Standard), which is the language that is most used in the galaxy.

Kind of like LOTR, and English representing Westron. In Spanish countries where the movie is dubbed, Spanish represents Basic.

I guess OP could just make up a dialect or language from a particular planet if they really want, and use Spanish to represent it.
