I use Wookieepedia for research purposes.

It doesn't necessarily draw me out of the fic, but I do dislike when people use any variation of god/gods/goddess/maker/etc. if no religion or religious preferences have been discussed in canon.

+1 It's a struggle for me NOT to do it sometimes, because I'm so used to using variations on "oh god" in sex scenes, but I dislike when it happens in fic I'm reading so I try not to.

Sooooo with you there. It's kinda like smut-writing in challenge mode when you do it without swears ("fuck", "oh god", etc) but it genuinely takes me out of it otherwise!

"Oh, Force!" honestly never works at all for me, and I keep seeing "Oh, Revan!" for darkside characters and that's a bit of a mess, too. I'll take "maker" because it's super generic, and, well, the droids use it! Though they're speaking a bit more literally, I suppose.

"Oh, Force" sounds so awkward. I haven't seen "Oh, Revan", but that sounds just as awkward.

Haha, hence why I use "maker/s" as in, "Thank the makers, this oil bath is going to feel sooooooo good."
