Between that an her dream sequence, I am assuming she's a padawan that was taken off planet and not killed in the massacre. How old would Kylo have been at the massacre though, if Rey was about 3 or 4?
She's also the perfect age to have been born around the time Kylo left for jedi training camp. And you know how parents often have more personal time once the first kid is out of the house more often...
