How valid it the stuff in that article? Because it sure sounds like they know stuff about the upcoming movie, and after all the shitstorm Carrie Fisher took in certain circles for daring to age between the OT and the ST movies, I can see her going 'you know what, fuck it. I'll be in the movies, but put me in a coma or something'

I don't know if it's true or not, it was a second hand hearing. I really hope it's not true too.

I wouldn't mind a hint of truth behind this claim be real. I don't want Leia to be in a coma, she is one the strongest female characters in cinema - period, but I would love to see discension amongst the ranks of the Republic. I've always wanted to see the Republic be not so morally good as they make themselves out to be.

I am worried about seeing Leia get hurt :( It felt like the scariest thing that could happen to Han already did when he was frozen in carbonite, so his death wasn't upsetting for me, just sad.

The Republic has always been a bag of corrupt and greedy wankers one step down from the Imperials. The Rebellion and the Resistance are the good guys, the Empire/First Order are the bad guys, and the Republic is the political shit pit of civil backstabbing and glad-handing that spawns both.

So much this.

And there will never be peace or order or freedom or democracy in the galaxy, because it is filled by people.

I've always wanted the First Order to be wagging their fingers at the Republic, trying to scold them and stop them from being corrupt and greedy. Obviously that is not the case, as thus far (based on VII) they are very much the villains of this trilogy.

I would love to see the FO splinter into two groups. A group led by Snoke that are villains, out to destroy and take over the galaxies. And another group that are just trying to represent a different view, to represent their people, so they can have their own equal standing alongside the Republic. Two parties, somewhat like Democrats vs Republicans, working for the greater good of the galaxies(universe) (or country).

But that will never happen. The First Order as a whole will remain villains.

Well, I suppose the Republicans haven't blown up an entire inhabited star system yet, so they do have that going for them. And I'm sure they and Grindlewald could agree on the whole greater good concept too.

That's only because one hasn't been found yet. I bet they will be blowing up big parts of the Middle East and possibly Korea, or at least trying to.
