Sappho: Greek lyric poet who lived on Lesbos. Many of her poems express her affection and love for women, and have given rise to her association with female homosexuality. Sapphic is either a very formal or very slang term for lesbian.

It's not a rare term. Anyone who looks up the origins of the word lesbian can pass it along, and looking up 'naughty' words is the only thing some boys do with dictionaries..

Well I don't see how anything I wrote made me sound like a man, anyway my plea seemed to have worked much more femslash prompts on the thread now :)
