I am asexual and get super disappointed when a fic abandons all characterization and plot, and slowly devolves into nothing but sex... So I feel your pain, OP.
I am not asexual and I get super disappointed when that happens too, but not as disappointed as I get when people act like asexuality is somehow linked to caring more about characterization and plot.
My sexuality is nobodies business and what dissappoints me is when people decide to use all fanfic or fanfic discussion as a gender/sexuality politics platform.
