I feel like there's a huge difference between me saying that I like parts of the trope and am not into others and saying that people who write it are awful. I don't believe that at all! I am totally supportive of anyone getting their kinks on.

Shipping characters who have never met or dealt with each other is kind of my bread and butter for some reason! It's not quite a pair the spares situation, as for me a lot of it comes from shipping more minor characters who don't get a lot of screentime period. A lot of it really will come down to actor chemistry offset though- sometimes because that's literally all you have to go off of.
I shipped Moriarty/Mycroft really hard (before they actually interacted in canon, and so believe you me that was Christmas) and a lot of the fuel was actor stuff offset.
Also in this instance, most of the Ex Machina fic is noncon. :/

I ship Poe/Finn because of their canon sweetness, friendship and adoration. Space Boyfriends. The lip bite. The jacket. The saving each other. The reunion hug. The cinnamon roll and the SINnamon roll who then taking care of the adorable BB-8 together.
Also Poe/Ben Solo since I am a sucker for opposite attract ship..the 'popular outgoing jock' with the 'emo kid' if in AU (Poe/Kylo dubcon noncon trash included). I also blame Oscar/Adam interaction in real life for this.
