Finn innocently asks BB-8 what the droid thinks his odds at successfully asking Poe out are one day, and BB-8 has no idea. So it does some research and downloads what essentially is the okcupid or match.dom algorithm to start running compatibility calculations on Finn and Poe, as well as others as a point of comparison. Then it starts trying to match up the people who are the most compatible.
