Hux finds out his father isn't actually his father. He was stolen, as all the troopers were, and it was pure chance and Brendol Hux's whim that he didn't end up one, too.

+ it's obvious in hindsight; they don't look a bit alike, aside from the hair.
+ his birth parents are/were senators or other public figures in the NR
+ Hux doesn't take it well

(+ if it's after the fall of the FO, he's put in custody rather than execution in deference to his parents)

+ He and his dad had a good relationship. Brendol was uncompromising and a hard taskmaster, but Hux thought well of him and credits a lot of who he is to his father
