I'm glad you like my stories! I must admit my knowledge of blues is a bit ridiculous, I had to google Robert Johnson to know who you were talking about welp :S. Guess why Finn suddenly switches to whitey cool jazz, with which I'm much more familiar, with at the end of the story eh...

I just want snapshots of their lives as they raise babies and grow old together.

It went from adorable to sad. I want it.

Finn is incredibly competent and after his recovery, is in on all the major strategy sessions for the Resistance, giving A+ intel and helping to come up with plans of attack that are VERY successful. He's rising up through the ranks quickly and everyone is noticing how awesome he is. And Poe finds it SO, SO HOT. And trying REALLY HARD not to jump Finn's bones right in the middle of the room.

(+1000 if Finn has totally noticed how hot and bothered Poe gets when he's doing Command-type things and is using it to his strategic advantage in his campaign to seduce the best pilot in the Resistance.)

Poe's parents are always trying to set him up, which is the bane of his existence and why he's DETERMINED to never let any of their matchmaking pay off in the SLIGHTEST.

Except then he comes home for Sunday dinner one night and Finn is there. Finn works for Kes or Shara and he is PERFECT IN EVERY WAY.

Poe, being a stubborn, prideful ass about this ONE THING, initially tries to sabotage the set up just like he always does, but Finn is so FINN that all of Poe's defenses seem pretty useless over the next few weeks.

(In the end, Poe's parents always win. But this time, so does Poe.)

This is really, really dumb, but I had way too much fun coming up with titles for the students' term papers. I have never actually taught a course, but I did have to take a history course on the Axis Powers in WWII, and I had to peer-edit some, uh, interesting papers.

Dr. Walap Telos groaned as his alarm shrieked in his ear. Today was his least favorite day of every semester- the day his HIST 364 students presented their research.

When the University of Yavin 4 approached him about teaching a class on the rise and fall of the First Order, Dr. Telos had jumped at the chance. Ever since he was a boy, he'd been fascinated by that period of history. Growing up he'd watched holodramas featuring the heroics of such historical luminaries as General Organa, Poe Dameron, and Finn, the man who had broken First Order conditioning and became the first-ever Stormtrooper to defect. The man's actual heritage was still a mystery, even some 200 years later, and Dr. Telos had fondly imagined working on the lineage project. Maybe he would even be the one to solve a centuries-old historical mystery!

And then he'd actually had to teach the class.

That first semester he'd had mostly good, conscientious students... and the twins. Yana and Walthar Mitaka, direct descendants of Lieutenant Dopheld Mitaka, a First Order officer. Oh sure, they always got great scores on their exams, and their research papers were detailed and impeccably sourced... but their main interest in the class was to push the idea that the First Order had done nothing wrong, and that the Resistance was the true villain of history- and, of course, that their great-great-great grandfather had done nothing wrong. Yana's final paper had been titled State Sponsored Terrorism: The New Republic and the Resistance, while her brother Walthar had written his paper on Driven to Madness: Did Child Abuse Create Lord Kylo Ren?.

Both papers had been extremely well-written and well-researched, but that content... Dr. Telos hadn't realized that there were actually people in this day and age that still were supporters of the First Order. But then again, they were the great-great-great grandchildren of a relatively high-ranking First Order officer. Who knew what they were learning from their family at home? The Mitaka clan was numerous and widespread- old Dopheld had gone on to have an absurd amount of children, it only made sense that some of his progeny would have tried to continue the old ways. It seemed that the twins were from one of those old-school Mitaka branches.

And then he taught the same class the next semester.

That time, he didn't have any Mitakas in his class, but he did have a boy named Kylo, who, of course, wrote his paper all about the Knights of Ren and why they were the most efficient and effective political group of all time. There had also been a quiet, unassuming girl who rarely spoke in class discussions, who got mediocre scores on her exams, and whose final paper was less of a final paper and more of a love letter to General Brendol Hux II. Instead of focusing on the historical truths of what the general had done, the student had waxed poetic about his glorious coppery hair, his stunning eyes, and his strong physique. It was pretty clear that if she had been born 200 years earlier, she would have joined the First Order in order to attempt to snag a marriage proposal from the organization's most eligible bachelor. After grading that one, Dr. Telos felt like he needed a shower and a good hard drink.

The third semester he taught the class, he didn't have any surprises. Well, there was that Hutt who seemed to have thought his people should have overthrown both the New Republic and the First Order and ruled the galaxy themselves, but the good professor could deal with that.

Last semester had been possibly the most stressful of his career. A new student group calling themselves the Second Order had started up. Technically, it was supposed to be a group for students interested in historical reenactments of that time period, but in practice it ended up being a bunch of students who wanted to revive the First Order and conquer planets again.

And they'd all ended up in his class. His class roster had several different Mitakas (all related, and all related to the historical Mitaka, of course), a girl named Phasma, a guy whose legal name was literally Starkiller Tarkin, a guy who claimed his great-grandmother was Lila Ren, one of Kylo Ren's subordinates, a girl with the surname Snoke (which was really disturbing to think about- after all, nobody had ever been able to disprove the existence of the Supreme Leader's supposed wife and children), and possibly most upsettingly, a descendant of Poe Dameron who'd clearly repudiated his ancestor's bravery and instead looked up to Brendol Hux II, going so far as to dye his naturally black hair a garish orange.

That semester Dr. Telos had to grade 27 different research papers with titles like Poe Dameron: Ace Pilot or Vicious Killer (that one had come from the man's descendant, of course), Covering Up Mass Murder: The Truth About the Resistance, Dopheld Mitaka: Our Galaxy's Founding Father, General Hux and Kylo Ren: More Than Just Coworkers?, An Analysis of Abnormalities in the Psychology of Finn the Stormtrooper, Why Rey Kenobi Should Have Just Stayed on Jakku, and on and on in that vein.

This semester, he didn't have nearly that many Second Order members in his class, but he still had a few, and he really wasn't sure that he wanted to see what they'd come up with this time. Dr. Telos didn't think he could take it if he had to grade something called BB-8 and Poe Dameron: History's Most Scandalous Liaison.

Hux decides to join a gym to stay in shape and moderate his stress levels. His trainer is totally shredded. He has an eight-pack.

OR

Kylo takes a booth boot-camp type of class. The trainer takes the military aesthetic and discipline a tad too seriously, which Kylo finds incredibly hot.

+ in either AU Phasma is the background getting in her workout and totally able to bench them.

Poe, Finn, and Kylo Ren are stuck on an ancient Jedi planet of some sort and a crazy collapsing temple/earthquake causes them to be stranded and Kylo, somehow, gets de-aged to a 6 year old Ben Solo again. Stuck with no way off, Poe and Finn have to take care of this kid together with the potential to teach him the difference between right and wrong.

I might fill, but do you want Kylo to romance Finn as himself or still as Matt? Also happy ending or?

I've been having thoughts on who and when would be a significant change to relationships or events if they had been cryo'd for laters. This is fabulous and very enthusiastically thirded.

finn joins the resistance but, after a time, realizes the war just isn't for him. he books passage to the outer rim to get as far away from the conflict as possible, leaving behind a letter for rey and/or poe to explain why he's left and to not come looking him. of course, they respect finn's wishes, and he disappears into the farthest corner of the galaxy.

a little while later (a month, a year? more?) finn comes back into poe and/or rey's orbit in less than happy circumstances. do they pick up where they left off? or are there unresolved issues that need to be ironed out first?

op loves finn/poe, finn/rey, and finn/rey/poe. op is also a fan of finn/rey + finn/poe poly-v.

Amazing picture, amazing prompt! Kylo is just a bit of a manic pixie dream girl and Hux really shouldn't be dating new cadets fresh off the academy transport.

Yes!I am also all for this for all of the above and also because, as Jupiter Ascending and it's evil space ginger reveal, where there are space vampires, there are space werewolves and possibly space were-bees.

I don't know where I saw it but there was a fill for Kylux - they overthrew/turned in the cult and show up at the Organa-Solo house with nowhere else to go and everything is awkward but Kylo and Rey are thrilled to see each other. I could stand to read a great deal more of cult fallout.

Thanks to some sort of random alien nonsense encountered on some planet or other, Hux temporarily acquires mind reading powers.

Unfortunately for him, it's not like Kylo's force based 'stare intently at someone and dig around in their brain for information' sort of mind reading, this is "I can hear every thought that crosses the minds of everyone around me and it will not stop."

+ Kylo has no idea, what with it not being a force thing, he just knows Hux is in a worse mood than usual about something so he's not making any sort of effort to avoid thinking about stuff he doesn't want Hux hearing.
++ Hux has to give up public speaking for a while because large crowds are deafening.
+++ The worst part is having to hear random crew members unfiltered and graphically explicit sexual fantasies, especially as he's apparently featured in some of them...

Your comment made me laugh! I'm glad someone else liked to think about Hux's tightly scheduled and v. organized day. I'm thinking that this is how Hux finally learned to delegate. There was a day that just consisted of Kylo passive-aggressively/meaningfully curled up on his lap like a cat that refuses to get off the keyboard.

Prisoner/defector Hux and Kylo are taken to the falcon for transport. They're behaving so Han's like okay WTH, let them room, they seem attached to the hip.

Queue Han walking in on Hux fucking Kylo.
