Poe and Jessika are ex-military, with the baggage that comes with it. Rey has, to put it mildly, abandonment issues. Finn is...difficult to explain. Therapy is part of their lives.

When Dr Kalonia suggested that perhaps in addition to their one-on-one sessions that attending a class on communicating as a couple might be beneficial, Rey wasn't thrilled. Then she made Finn and his boyfriend come too. Then they met the third couple in the class, and it really just turned into a spectator sport.

I love this idea so much. Wish I could write it for you. :'(
