Ben is growing stronger by the day, but also more erratic. Han & Leia are already worried he's feeling torn between Light & Dark. With that Skywalker weight of destiny on his shoulders, they don't want to push him too hard towards the Light side of the Jedi and risk him cracking under the pressure. So, they decide a more neutral approach is in order. Han calls in a favor, and gets Ben a summer job at Maz's place.

She won't teach him lightsaber combat, or mind tricks; she mostly just makes him meditate and focus on the life energy around him (and that's when he's not busy cleaning dishes). But slooowly, he learns wisdom and patience. He learns to use his powers, but not to abuse them or be used by them, and can return to his family with a happy balance of control.

Maz would take the most "wax on, wax off" approach to training. I need this. In fact I need a whole slew of "X has a summer job with Maz," can this be a thing?

(OP) That's exactly what I had in mind- she makes him do a lot of chores, and then a lot of yoga. And he ends up absolutely adoring her, and they end up coming up with an internship program where he brings her new recruits every summer <3

Also want to see this b/c my headcanon is that he was never given a third option and he would have been fine if he had found one.

I love everything about this, but especially that last bonus.
