So Chewie drops Rey off with Luke, but I imagine he might not want or need to hang around while Jedi training happens, along with still being deep in mourning for Han and needing to work through that.

And Maz just had the place she's lived and worked for a thousand years reduced to rubble.

What I'm getting at here is that Chewie goes back to Takodana and spends some time helping Maz rebuild and hanging out with her until Rey and Luke call him for a ride back to the Resistance or Leia needs his help with something. Maz helps him work through his grief and figure out how to move on, he lifts heavy things and gets stuff off the top shelf and growls at troublemakers. Basically just give me some fluffy curtainfic with Maz and her Wookiee boyfriend.

Seconded! Chewie needs some love after everything that happened, and he and Maz would be cute together, I'm not even kidding.
