I saw the movie a second time today and noticed for the first time that Poe is wearing some astonishingly awful clothes when he and the rest of the Resistance are waving goodbye to Rey.

It's difficult to make out because of the low cam quality, but I swear to god it looks as though he's wearing an oversized burlap peasant top paired with a matching pair of oversized burlap trousers.

I don't care about the plot or the pairings -- I just want to know about these clothes! Are they standard-issue Resistance clothing items? If so, what are they for – leisure, cleaning duty? (And if so, does everyone at the base find them as horrendously ugly as I do?) Did Poe stumble across a pair of potato sacks one day and decide 'waste not, want not', resulting in the scratchiest outfit of all time? Does Poe just have a really hit-or-miss fashion sense when it comes to leisure clothing, AKA everything in his wardrobe oscillates between the ‘sexy-secret-pilot’ outfit level we saw on Jakku and… whatever the fuck this is?

In case it comes to pairings, OP is partial to Poe/Finn in this context but is happy with whatever you might come up with.

That's Poe? I thought Poe was in the background of the larger shot next to the X-wing. Seconding anyway because nice as the jacket is, Poe as a fashion disaster is a trope I can get behind.

OP -- I mean, I think it's him? I remember being in the theatre and being like 'omg what the fuck are you wearing poe dameron' during that scene but the low cam quality makes it hard to confirm. But agreed, either way it would make for a fun fic. :3

I think that's the formal Resistance pilot uniform, during the movie you can see some of the other pilots wearing it before they suit up in the orange one and get on their planes. Or maybe it's a commander uniform.

I think what Poe's wearing is something similar to that.

Am I insane or blind or something? I think it looks completely fine and I don't understand why everyone is acting like it's ~soooooooooooo hideous.

I don't think it's that ugly too, but I admit it's not the best military suit I've seen xD But it's understandable why they use the colour and the kind of one-piece design, the Resistance are lack of resources so it's not like they get to have some fancy stuffs, they make do.

It just looks sort of throwback-y to classic jedi clothes. People are just bring hyperbolic, as usual.

That man is Poe all right, and that ugly clothes is actually the Resistance's official uniform :D

There's still a good chance Poe "the jacket" Dameron hates himself in that uniform thing...

I'm so glad we got to see him in civvies in his first scenes and the flight suit in the rest of the scenes. That official uniform is awful.

Well clearly he's only wearing that because Rey and Finn stole the rest of his clothes... ;)

Am I the only one who think he still look quite dashing in that clothes? (It's Poe. He can still look extremely gorgeous even in a potato sack)
