FILL: The Twisted Workings of the Dark Side 4/6
(Anonymous) 2016-01-23 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)When Poe finally managed to convince Ren to let him remove those robes, he got more than he bargained for.
Ren really was a man.
It was impossible. It was completely impossible! But it was true. The secret he spoke of, being a vessel for the darkness… This was a man literally impregnated by the force, meaning it wasn’t just rape that Kylo Ren endured. It was torture that made Poe’s own interrogation at his hand seem innocent.
He struggled to even comprehend such sadism. To have something inside his body that wasn’t his own, that he didn’t want and was never designed to carry. To have it grow, slowly stealing his strength – and from the way the rest of him looked, he doubted there was any kind of care or concern given to maintaining that strength in the first place. To swell and distort his appearance, making him both a monster and a mockery at the same time. And then, after months of pain and humiliation, there was nowhere for the damn thing to go! There was literally only pain – pain that wouldn’t go away until he was split open and the baby forcefully removed and killed in front of him. Maybe he’d be instructed to kill it. And if he couldn’t? What then? Would he be killed? Left to die, vivisected and alone?
If ever there was proof that the dark side was twisted, this was it.
“What do we do?” Rey paced. “He was trying to return to his Supreme Leader. If we managed to signal the First Order…”
“No.” Poe struck that idea down without hesitation. “We won’t do that. We are not the monsters that they are!”
“Aren’t we? He’s in fucking agony and we can’t do anything about it. His leader made it, his leader can take it out.”
“No.” he stomped his boot against concrete. “Do we have a field kit? Surgical tools of any kind?”
“Oh, so cutting it out ourselves makes us better monsters?” Finn’s voice barely carried over the agonizing screams of Kylo Ren’s torturous labor. Another contraction racked him to his very core. Any hope of harnessing the pain for anything useful had long gone by the wayside.
Poe glanced over his shoulder. If they did nothing, Ren would probably die. Even if they did manage to get him on the Falcon and to a Resistance stronghold, he would be put to death as soon as the baby was safely delivered. He also couldn’t help but notice, for all the times he praised his Supreme Leader’s infinite wisdom, Ren didn’t seem all that eager to face him again. It was quite the opposite, in fact.
“He’s helpless. And he’s terrified.” Poe whispered. “I think he actually trusts us.”
“That trust doesn’t exactly go both ways.”
“But it does have to start somewhere.” Rey countered. She could feel his pain, and she could almost hear Leia whispering the hopeful mantra in her ear, ‘There is good in him. I know it.’ Poe’s sympathy was born out of revulsion for the atrocities Ren had already suffered. There were some things a man didn’t even wish on their greatest enemy. Her sympathy was coming from the Force. “I’ll see what I can find.”
Poe sighed. “Thank you.”
