10 - 15 years ago, i cant remember when exactly, i actually did read some dark AU's that you have described!
of course not with the TFA characters, but with the Original trilogy , where vader really was successfull in turning luke, or another one, where he raised luka and leia, and they all served palpatine.
the coolest one though was the one, where amidala was the evol queen empress, who brought anakin and luke to her side, and ruled the galaxy...
sorry, got carried away in memories.
in other words, i would like to see a new generation of authors taking on your prompt! (even if yours is much lighter and humorous compared to what i read back then)

Rey is the undercover cop. Kylo is the criminal who takes her under his wing. Things go really badly.

(Star Wars universe or regular 90s crime drama milieu, whichever you're feeling. Bonus points for an Orange/White-flavored downer ending, at least through implication, because I'm weak.)

Rey decides that she hasn't seen enough of the universe. After passing out in a cantina somewhere, she wakes up at a cloning facility. Years have passed and she's been in cryosleep. The equipment automatically woke her, the cloners are gone. She's completely fine, and discovers a perfect copy of herself. She's transfixed - her clone is so peaceful, perfect, and supprisingly attractive. She unfreezes herself and they have mind-blowing sex.

Fingering, cunnilingus, and improvised sex toys from the lab, please. It'd be great if she has trouble convincing herself it's a good idea. It's a great idea. Wait, is that another clone over there?

"And you...found this among the briefing notes." Hux's voice is incredulous, and it takes a considerable amount of self-control before he's able to tear his gaze away from the holo-screen.

Ren, standing next to him, nods. "In the minds of one of your Stormtroopers, to be precise," he says. "From there it was easy enough to find the file." He falls silent, and Hux, still entranced by the holo-screen and the file displayed there in stark white letters, can't find it in himself to say much, either.

"There's no second chapter," Ren notes at length, and if it weren't an entirely ridiculous notion, Hux would've thought he almost sounded a bit disappointed.

Hux, for his part, isn't sure whether to be mortified or horribly amused, and, unwilling to chose, he instead focuses back on the holo-screen. "What's that button for?"

Ren looks at him, then to where he's pointing, then back at Hux again. He smirks. "It's a 'review' button, general; you use it for--"

"I know what a review is, Ren!" Hux snaps, and before he can change his mind about it he's already reaching forward and clicking on the button.

A new window pops up. Empty, with a blinking cursor.

Hux considers his options.

"Well?" Ren snaps, because of course anything even remotely resembling patience is anathema to him.

"Don't push me, Ren, this needs a delicate hand."

Thus: slowly, painstakingly, Hux starts to type.

Dear xxx__secretstormtrooper2_xx, this is your commanding officer. There are several things I've noticed in regard to this 'fic': One, it's astonishingly badly-written. Two, tags are for informational use only, and to see you misappropriating them like this is horrendous.

He's about to list off the quite honestly awe-inspiring amount of grammatical rules violated in so few words when, without any warning whatsoever, Ren turns to him and pushes him out of the chair. The move must've been Force-aided, Hux thinks even as he skids across the floor, because there is some truth in fiction and under no other circumstance would he have let himself get caught off-guard like that.

By the time he's standing next to Ren again, the Knight has already typed out a long, caps-lock laden paragraph. Hux fights down the urge to shove Ren out of the way just as violently as had been done to him, but manages to restrain himself -- drawing himself up to his full height he looks over Ren's shoulder, and begins to read.

He stops just as quickly. For several seconds Hux tries to both fight down the blush creeping up his cheeks and the desperate, ridiculous need to smash the holo-projector before Ren has a chance to send the damn-- he hesitates to say review, because it really, honestly isn't.

"Are you really sure you want to enlighten the writer as to our, ah, proclivities in the bedroom?" he finally asks.

"Ashamed, general?" No need to look at Ren when Hux can practically hear the smirk already.

He nevertheless takes some time to consider the question, then, just as a gloved hand comes to rest at the back of his neck, shrugs. "No. Send it. If nothing else, it will deter people from reading that awful, inaccurate drivel."

"Very good." Ren clicks the button, and together, they watch the review pop up underneath the file.

Five hours later, the review has not only garnered several dozen sub-comments, but has also further inspired three fics, a fanmix, and two drawings. Hux is exasperated but Ren seems to count it as a success, and that night, the two of them do their best to improve on just about everything the fic was less than accurate on.

'cause domhnall gleeson and Oscar Isaac are adorbs together.

An au where hux and Poe are dating/married/only just getting there, and hux isn't an asshole general, but working for the resistance as a strategist or something.

Nobody understands what an aloof genius hux and Poe with great social skills see in each other.

This is amazing.

Ben is a hunter-in-training from a long line of hunters. Poe is a happy-go-lucky werewolf. Finn is the BFF who's always sticking by Poe's side, even when he thinks Poe's 'fly by the seat of his pants' plans will get them all killed. Rey is the semi-feral werecoyote who spent half of her formative years living as a coyote in the woods. BB-8 is Poe's much-loved puppy.

Shenanigans ensue and somewhere along the way, they all become friends and pack, and Ben and Poe become more.

Anything goes, just roll with it, Anons~ Feel free to play around with everyone's parts, as long as Poe/Ben end up together in the end.

I mean, this lends itself to mostly a Las Vegas AU where they wake up married, but I imagine it could also work where they find themselves on a planet where they don't speak the language or understand the customs and end up being married there. What I really want is the morning (and the weeks, months etc.) after, where they find out they're married and they never get around to annulling it, probably because they're both just holding on to it for as long as they're allowed to have it.

(Basically I want husbands pining for each other ridiculously.)

I doubt it'll ever be canon, but I'd love to see a fic (or, y'know a dozen fics) where Rey is Anakin Skywalker, reincarnated, and only starts to realize it once she begins Jedi training.

How does she react? Does she tell anyone or try to hide it? Does it change her willingness to train as a Jedi? Does it change the way she regards Kylo? Does she /really/ hate sand?

Any length, any paring or lack thereof, as serious or cracktastic as you like, fluffy or angsty, whatever, I just need all the Anakin!Rey ya'll/the universe will give me. [makes grabby hands]

I would like to see a fic which deals with the aftermath of a rape. Like the whole thing with finding him hurt and nursing him back to health-part. I want to see his friends reactions and their support and I want to read about how Poe deals with everyone knowing about what happened to him

Bonus points in the aggressor was Kylo Ren and Leia's reaction to that and how she deals with it.

(If filler would like a darker turn; Victim blaming. Or even darker; Kylo Ren follows Han Solo back home and Poe dealing with having his rapist in the resistance, with Kylo Ren having no regrets and perhaps even mocking Poe for it.)

When splashed with hot water, Ben Solo turns into Kylo Ren.

Even better if Ben happens to be dating Poe, while Kylo on the other hand is dating Hux. Crack appreciated.

The reason why ren is so out of control is because he's a sentinel. Hux is a guide who's learned to shield himself extremely well so that he would never unravel.

Can be modern!AU or canon!AU.
