Thank you. That is what I meant. I never felt like the "Finn is oblivious about everything" from watching the film (TFA was the first SW film I watched completely without any knowledge of the other sources), so it has always been a bit of a pet peeve just how popular that particular trope has become.

My comment about before The Awakening was that even without taking into consideration that source that goes into more detail about exactly how good Finn was while in the Order. In the actual film we see him be a competent strategist and fighter, talking with General Organa like pretty much an equal when they were planning about how to deal with Starkiller Base, making a deal with pilots to get out of Takodana, know enough about relationships to know what a boyfriend is, etc.

So I just don't really get the "Finn has to be emotionally stunt and needs Poe to lead him by the hand constantly thing" got started in the first place.
