1530s, originally "sweetheart," applied to either sex, from Dutch boel "lover; brother," probably a diminutive of Middle Dutch broeder "brother" (compare Middle High German buole "brother," source of German Buhle "lover;" see brother (n.)).

Meaning deteriorated 17c. through "fine fellow" and "blusterer" to "harasser of the weak" (1680s, from bully-ruffian, 1650s). Perhaps this was by influence of bull (n.1), but a connecting sense between "lover" and "ruffian" may be in "protector of a prostitute," which was one sense of bully (though not specifically attested until 1706). The expression meaning "worthy, jolly, admirable" (especially in 1864 U.S. slang bully for you!) is first attested 1680s, and preserves an earlier, positive sense of the word.

Agreed -- and tbh it makes the meme a while lot more pleasant to hang out at for me at least. Nips that wank right in the bud so fast I usually only see the tail-end.

I tend not to be into villains, and I'm really not into any of the evil organizations that get a lot of fangirls, like HYDRA and the Deatheaters. Like, I am actively not about that life.

However, the First Order is kind of doing it for me. Sexually.

I'm feeling some heavy shame.

I disagree because it makes no systematic sense. It's more pleasant sometimes, and not other times, BECAUSE THERES NO STANDARD.

The standard is if it's bothering someone enough to note the mod, and it isn't someone crying wolf for lols or w/e it gets frozen. Read the mod post if you want explanations and stop beating the dead horse.

An anon threw a tantrum because someone wrote a fic with details they didn't like. Other anons threw tantrums saying people had a right to write whatever details they wanted in fic.

Basically, drama over potato products. You didn't miss much.

I would love for it to happen in canon, but it's not going to. A major blockbuster franchise might bend enough to have a gay character, but they're not going to have two of their three leads in a gay relationship. Hollywood isn't that progressive and they're probably worried that most audiences would refuse to pay to see the movie if they went that route.
