I mainly write Finn/Hux and Finn/Kylo because I love the dynamic of unrequired ships and just love Finn getting attention, but I'm trying to get into others.
Lmao, exactly! It confuses me when people say they only search based on kudos/comments, because my experience with "big name authors and stories" has almost always resulted in that "why is this so popular" reaction. I sometimes joke that if you want to hit it big in fandom just write as many cliches and tropes and make the characters as OTT OOC as possible, but man sometimes that's lowkey true.

I was trying to recently do a Senator Finn edit and I pretty much had to use female looks (although I tried to pick ones that could look good in a male body too) because I couldn't find good male alternatives on Tumblr (most of what I found was either suits, variations of every day clothes or ugly).

So I'm still pretty new to this fandom and haven't really gotten into any of the non-tfa stuff, so I was wondering what fandom stuff has been established about alien junk/mating/ect. For instance in the Star Trek fandom there is a lot about Vulcan and Klingon mating and genitals. Is there Star Wars accepted/popular meta??

He could pull off Padme's bondage dress and a few others in her wardrobe from the PT, but some are just not flattering to his body type.
The Evanescence one needs more dramatic cloak and piercings.
I have no idea why, but anytime I see Kylo/OFC, I first read it as KFC, and I have a lost moment pondering the popularity of fried chicken in the Star Wars universe.

I don't have a problem with the dresses, though I do prefer the more androgynous costume edits. The thing I do have an issue with is Senator Ben AUs with them giving him Padme's make up when she was Queen Amidala. That is something specific to Naboo Royalty ONLY, not something a senator would wear. *is anal*

There are robes -basically the same as dresses but the cut makes all the difference. And "no gender binary in space" is all nice and well but in writing, words still have certain connotations and "dress", especially based on Amidala-type designs, has the connotation of a certain kind of cut that would ridiculous on someone with Adam Driver's body type.
And basing an aesthetic on something does not mean "have to copy it exactly". That's just lazy.
