The relationship between Snoke and the First Order is not as stable as it seems. They're using each other for their own ends, and view the other as currently useful but ultimately disposable. Everyone is aware of the tenuousness of their alliance, especially after Starkiller. Snoke bids Kylo to form a Force-bond with Hux as a means of keeping tabs on the Order (and making sure Kylo has somewhere soft to strike, should it come to that). FO command, when they find out, order Hux to accept it: they control Hux, and through him can manipulate Kylo Ren, Snoke's most valuable asset. It's all dreadfully convenient.

The problem: they're not in a relationship, and neither were exactly eager to start one. Now their respective masters are essentially forcing them into a shotgun wedding. Only worse.

+ neither Snoke nor the FO command know the other initiated/encouraged it and smugly think they're taking advantage
+++++ Hux and Kylo also don't know they were both ordered into it +until after
+ Ren's failures are much less satisfying now that Hux is permanently shackled to him
+ resentment
+ political/career ramifications
+ having to actually work together, as opposed to pretending to work together

Forced relationships, and bitter resentment, and being made to actually cooperate?I cannot help but second this!
